Flower with Yoyo

I decided to applique 2 big flowers to my current project but it still needed a little more oomph, so I added a couple of kaffe fassett yoyos to the middle of the flowers. Very happy with the finished look. Working on the hand quilting now. Love to you all and have a great Xmas break. Cate x

3rd Block Completed

So pleased with the way my 3rd block has turned out. Yes, I am fussy cutting alot, but as I haven't done this much in the past, I am really enjoying the challenge.

Amy Butler Mid Wester quilt and cushions

Soooo Happy I have finally finished my Amy Butler mid western quilt and cushions. Here it is in my lounge room.

This is just one of what is, around 15 partly finished quilts I have lying around. At least I know this is a normal thing, thanks to reading other blogs. LOL.

I love the aqua colours of this range which I emphasised as I wanted to create a beachy theme.

Of course, Lily had to test drive the cushion. Why is it that Dogs have to lie on the quilts whilst they are being made.   Maybe they are a little jealous of the time we spend with our quilts.

Enjoy your day everyone who reads this and I send my love you xxx

Best Friends 50th Birthday Quilt

Old World Charm...I made this quilt for my best friend Kate (yes we have he same name!!) for her 50th. It matchs nicely with her lovely antique bedroom suite and deep moorone feature wall. Most of the fabric is from the Moda range Country Paths which is a few years old now.

I had made a quilt from this range a few years ago and she asked me to make her one for her 50th as she always had loved my quilt. It makes me feel so good to give a gift to someone I love dearly and know that when they gaze upon it, they will get a lovely feeling - knowing that my love is in the stitching.

Miki in photo shoot

My daughter Miki had some great photos taken by her friend, Danielle. Dont know how she laid still so long without licking up those "hundreds and thousands". This was my favourite photo - so amazing. Cate x

Block of the Month - sew along - my 2 blocks so far

Here are my first 2 blocks on the sew along BOM. I am using Sarah Feilke's "from little things" fabric range with a few contrasting fabrics thrown in. I really love the yellow spot background and I have decided to fussy cut quite a few pieces. I am looking forward to making the rest of the quilt.

Charli's Quilt is finished !!

I have been waiting to borrow a good camera to take a clear pic of my grand-daughter Charli's finished quilt top. It still has to have alot of bright flower button sewn on and I am hoping to get it professionally quilted over the next few weeks so I can give it to her for Christmas!! The wind played havoc with my photo shoot but I did get this shot off before it nearly blew off my balcony...lol
